A suspect has been taken into custody in Friday’s fatal shooting at West End Park in Cookeville. On Saturday, Cookeville Police said they were withholding the suspect’s name at this time.
Demarcus Hughes, age 18, of Cookeville, died Friday as a result of his injuries. A second victim, who is a juvenile, was injured during the incident and transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Cookeville Police initially reported that there were two suspects who fled on foot after the shooting, which occurred around 4pm Friday.
