A Sweetwater man faces multiple charges following a hit and run accident on the Peavine off-ramp Saturday afternoon (10/14/23).  According to the victims, 21-year-old Jeivin Josue Lopez Garcia hit their vehicle as it was sitting at the red light on the eastbound 322 exit ramp.  They say Garcia drove onto the curb and struck their vehicle on the passenger side with the driver side of his car and then refused to stop.  A witness also saw the crash and was able to get videos of Mr. Garcia driving on I-40.  The victims tracked Garcia to Miller Avenue where he was stopped by Crossville Police.  According to reports, Garcia smelled like alcohol and there were several empty beer cans in his car.  Garcia was transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center and served with warrants for Driving Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving on a Suspended/No Drivers License, and Reckless Endangerment.  The report does not state if the victims sustained injuries in the crash.
