The Cumberland Plateau Water Authority met for their monthly meeting on Monday

As the Cumberland Plateau Water Authority seeks to consolidate water resources, their attorney, Kenneth Chadwell, offered his opinion on a City of Crossville charter section that some felt might require a referendum before the city could join. Chadwell told board members during the monthly meeting on Monday, it was his interpretation that a referendum was not required for the city to turn over assets to the water authority, however, he noted that residents would have a narrow window to call for a referendum if the city council were to vote to join the water authority. He clarified that was his opinion and not that of the city or the city attorney. The CPWA will meet again on December 4^th at 6 PM.
