Crossville City Manager Greg Wood setting sights on retirement

During Tuesday’s Crossville City Council work session, City Manager Greg Wood, told council members that he would not be seeking a contract extension. Wood said he felt it was time to pass the torch to a new manager and would plan to work up to May of 2024 in order to work with his replacement to ease the transition. Council expects to post the position in the coming weeks and begin interviews in January. Mr. Wood is the first manager in over twenty years to retire rather than be terminated or resign abruptly. Wood was hired in March of 2017.
