PCSO Press Release 11/14/2023:
On November 7, 2023, Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a burglary on Street Place Loop, in Putnam County. Upon arrival, deputies noticed the structure of the garage on the house as well as the detached garage had been damaged in order for someone to gain entry. PCSO Detective Gary Harris responded and began an investigation when he noticed that a glass door had also been broken inside of the residence as well as multiple items being displaced. The owner of the residence was contacted and responded to the residence to compile a list of all items taken. The owner also stated that he had a video of the suspect at the residence during the time of the burglary and who was later identified as Eddie James Bright. PCSO Detectives assisted by PCSO Warrants Division, Patrol, and Monterey Police Department located Bright at his residence on Old Walton Road along with the vehicle that was used to damage the garage doors and some of the stolen items. Patrol Deputies recovered the stolen items and returned them to the rightful owner.
Bright was arrested and charged with Aggravated Burglary and Burglary. Bright has a bond set at $36,000 and a court date of 12/6/2023.
