Tennessee recorded its 26th boating fatality this year after the body of a man was found Tuesday morning at Harrison Bay State Park in Hamilton County. The victim and two other men were in a canoe when the vessel overturned. Two of the men were able to swim to an island where they built a fire to keep warm. Their cries for help were heard around 2:30am Tuesday by someone fishing nearby. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Remote Operated Vehicle located the victim’s body in seven feet of water and the body was recovered around 8am. None of the men were wearing life jackets.
