The mother of a 4-year-old Rutherford County girl who was viciously attacked by a pit bull last week has been charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect. It happened last Thursday (11/9/2023) as the little girl was reportedly playing alone and unsupervised in her backyard. Police say the dog escaped from a kennel and mom Candy Tittle heard her daughter’s screams and then saw the dog attacking the girl. The child suffered catastrophic injuries and was flown to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. A press release on the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page did not clearly state who owns the pit bull. Tittle is being held on a $120,000 bond. Tittle was due in court on Tuesday, however WSMV reports her hearing has been rescheduled for November 20, 2023.
