Crossville downtown sidewalk bids approved during council meeting

Bids for the long awaited downtown sidewalk project were approved by the Crossville City Council Tuesday evening. Council voted to accept the bid of Adams Contracting in the amount of $2.9 million which will include over 35,000 square feet of sidewalk. The city is hoping to receive a grant in the amount of $2.3 million with a 20 percent local match, however, if that does not happen, council plans to move forward with other funding sources. Once started, the project is expected to take 18 months to complete.
