Firefighters were dispatched to Flat Rock Road in Deer Lodge just before 6pm Sunday for a wildfire. The State Fire map showed 3 personnel still working the blaze at 8am Monday. It was contained to 1.5 acres.
Morgan County is one of 15 counties across Tennessee with Active Burn Bans.
A violation of the Commissioner of Agriculture’s imposed burn ban is considered reckless burning and is punishable as a Class A misdemeanor which carries a fine of $2,500 and/or up to 11 months 29 days in jail.
