A mysterious and deadly dog disease has been detected in Tennessee. It affects the respiratory system and is very contagious. So far it’s been found in at least 17 states but it is likely to spread quickly to others. First detected in August 2022, veterinarians still don’t know a lot about this dog disease, which has proven to be resistant to normal treatments. If your dog has unusual symptoms of sneezing, coughing, lethargy, loss of appetite, labored breathing or nasal discharge call your vet. Some cases may be mild, unfortunately others may result in death. At this time, experts say this disease affects only dogs and does not appear to pose a threat to humans or other animals. Their advice is to keep your dogs at home and away from other dogs. Don’t take your dogs into any stores and keep them away from places where canines gather.
