The Tennessee Valley Authority has officially retired coal plant in Anderson County

TVA has announced the official closure of the Bull Run Fossil Plant in Anderson County. The closing, effective Friday, has been planned since the TVA Board approved the retirement of the plant in 2019. The facility in Clinton began generating power in June of 1967. TVA is currently evaluating the future use of the Bull Run site, including potential opportunities to maintain grid stability based on its strategic geographic location in the TVA service territory.
