The Sparta Rescue Squad assisted in the rescue of four goats on Signal Mountain on Wednesday (12/6/2023). Waldens Ridge Emergency Service says the goats were stranded on a ledge along the east brow for close to two weeks. Skilled rescue climbers went down the steep cliff where they harnessed the animals and hauled them back up to safety. Waldens Ridge Emergency Service extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated volunteers from Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Service and the Sparta Rescue Squad for their invaluable assistance in the successful extraction.
