TN Dept. of Ag to Hold Hearing Regarding Proposed Rules for Cannabis Flower and Products; Hemp Farmers and Retailers Very Concerned

Jan 3, 2024 | 11:01 AM

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture has scheduled a hearing in February regarding proposed rules for the manufacture, sale, testing and compliance of hemp-derived cannabis flower and products.  Hemp retailers and farmers are very concerned the new rules will put them out of business.

According to WKRN, State Representative Chris Hurt, who is on the Agriculture Committee, said, “It’s kind of changing the rules in the middle of the game.”

These Tennessee Department of Agriculture rules could go into effect on July 1, 2024.

A public Rulemaking Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 10am Central at the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Porter Building Atrium, located at 436 Hogan Road in Nashville, TN.  The hearing is open to the public.
