The Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed 25 weather-related fatalities, according to a Flash Report released by TEMA Saturday night. Seven people have died due to the extreme weather in Shelby County, one in Hickman County, one in Madison County, two in Washington County, one in Carroll County, four in Knox County, one in Van Buren County, one in Lauderdale County, one in Henry County, two in Marshall County, one in Coffee County, one in Marion County, one in Roane County, and one in Anderson County.
On Wednesday (1/17/24), a State of Emergency was declared to provide temporary hours of service relief to commercial livestock and poultry industry drivers until 3:59 p.m. January 27. This declaration runs concurrent with the previous State of Emergency that is providing commercial vehicles transporting fuel relief from hours of service also until 3:59 p.m. on January 27.
