Tennessee House Passes “Duty to Warn” Bill, Expands Notification to All Health Care Providers When Patients Are Deemed A Threat of Bodily Harm

The Tennessee House has passed a mental health reform bill that expands notification to all health providers regarding patients deemed as a threat.

House Bill 7084 “As introduced, expands the duty to warn of an actual threat of bodily harm to include all healthcare providers, not just mental health professionals and behavior analysts.”

The bill must pass the state Senate and then be signed by the governor to become law.
