A Fentress County man faces a Theft of Property charge after he was found in possession of a stolen firearm during a routine traffic stop on Saturday (3/2/24). According to reports from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, 58-year-old Louie Dee Tarufelli, of Jamestown, was pulled over on Plateau Road and Wilson Road for a registration violation and failure to maintain his lane. A check with dispatched revealed Mr. Tarufelli had an outstanding warrant for Child Support. The report states a search of his vehicle revealed a Taurus G2C firearm that was reported stolen out of Fentress County. Mr. Tarufelli was transported to Cumberland County Intake and served with his outstanding warrant and charged with Theft of Property. The owner of the firearm has been notified to retrieve his property.
