Two Plead Guilty in Death of Jefferson County 2 Month Old

According to WVLT, Two people have pled guilty in the 2023 death of a Jefferson County 2-month-old, according to court records obtained by WVLT News. Chelsea Marsh and Nick Lay were charged in October after firefighters responded to a home on Lowery Loop Road to find a baby not breathing. According to the New Market Fire Department, responders tried to use CPR on the child, but it did not work and the young boy was pronounced dead at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Lay and Marsh were originally charged with aggravated child neglect and abuse, possession of Schedule VI marijuana for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia. They pled guilty to both the drug charges and the lesser charge of child neglect and abuse.
