Unemployment Drops in Every County Across Tennessee in February

Every county in Tennessee recorded lower unemployment rates for the month of February. The decrease in unemployment across the state led each county to post rates under 5% in February.

Cumberland County’s jobless rate for February was 4.1 percent, down 1.1 percent from January’s rate of 5.2 percent. It was also down 0.9 percent from the previous year.

Warren County’s February unemployment rate was 3.0 percent, down 0.6 percent from January.

White County’s unemployment rate for February was 2.9 percent, falling 0.7 percent from January’s rate of 3.6 percent.

Moore County had the lowest unemployment in Tennessee in February 1.9%.

Cocke County had the highest jobless number in February at 4.7%, with Bledsoe County recording the state’s next highest unemployment rate at 4.5%.

As reported on March 21, the statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in February was 3.3%, down from 3.5% in January.

Nationally, unemployment increased by 0.2 of a percentage point during the month to 3.9%.
