A traffic stop in Putnam County netted a host of drugs and charges against the driver. According to a press release, on Monday (June 3, 2024), the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop of a U-Haul truck near exit 290 in Putnam County.
Melinda Sharma, who has outstanding warrants in another county, was found to be the driver of the vehicle. During the traffic stop a strong odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 18 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 20 grams of suspected marijuana, approximately 7 grams of a brown powder substance, approximately 12 doses of suspected LSD, drug paraphernalia, and a sum of US currency being seized.
Sharma was arrested and charged with Manufacture, Sell, Delivery of Methamphetamine, 2 counts of Schedule I, Simple possession, and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Sharma has a bond set at $17,000 and a court date set for July 22, 2024.
