A South Carolina man faces a slew of drug charges after he was stopped in Cumberland County on Thursday (6/6/2024).  According to reports, a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputy observed 31-year-old Blake Lee Howard Speck, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, traveling I-40 East at approximately 60 miles per hour in the left lane, holding up traffic. Speck reportedly switched to the right lane and crossed over the fog line several times.   The Deputy conducted a traffic stop as the vehicle was turning into the 7-11 on Commercial Drive.  As Mr. Speck was informed of Tennessee’s Slow Poke law he was reportedly acting erratic. A check of his driver’s license revealed it was suspended and also that Mr. Speck had 3 active warrants out of Putnam County. He was placed in custody.  A search of his person reportedly yielded a working digital scale, a glass jar with a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. Other drugs were reportedly found in the vehicle along with several needles and a meth pipe.  Speck was charged with Driving on a Revoked/Suspended License; Manufacture, Delivery, Sell or Possession of Meth, Manufacture, Delivery, Sell or Possession of Schedule 1 Drugs; Possession of Marijuana; and 3-counts of Simple Possession/Casual Exchange.  His bond was set at $82,000 and his court date is scheduled for July 1, 2024.
