A Harriman man has been charged with felonies after reportedly leading Crossville Police and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies on a high speed chase.
According to the Crossville Police Department, an officer was patrolling the Walmart parking lot and observed a motorcycle with no registration plate. As the officer attempted to make contact, the driver took off and failed to stop when the officer activated his lights and siren. Police say the motorcyclist sped past pedestrians and vehicles in the parking lot before traveling north on 127, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour with no lights illuminating the back of the motorcycle. Cumberland County Deputies spotted the motorcycle at the 320 Exit and resumed the pursuit eastbound on I-40.
Deputies made contact with 28-year-old Kenneth Edward Kilby at a residence on Price Loop in Rockwood. Kilby had reportedly pulled the vehicle around the back of the residence and attempted to conceal it with a tarp. Kilby was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Jail and charged with Felony Evading, Felony Reckless Endangerment, Speeding and Driving an Unregistered Vehicle.
