At the Tennessee Republican Party’s annual Statesman’s Dinner in Nashville over the weekend, Congressman John Rose named Rebecca and Allen Foster as the Sixth Congressional District Statesman of the Year.
Congressman Rose said, “Rebecca dutifully served the 6th District as my office’s District Director before passing away due to cancer earlier this year. There is no doubt that she left the world a better place than she found it.” Rose said, “Rebecca truly embodied the spirit of Tennessee and continues to exemplify what it means to be a statesman.” Congressman Rose spoke of how Rebecca and her husband, Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster, formed a formidable team, always focused on service to others. On X, Rose said that his office “will continue to build on Rebecca’s hard work and honor her legacy any way we can.”
In a Facebook post, Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster humbly thanked Congressman John Rose. Mayor Foster also thanked his late wife of almost 34 years writing, “We truly were a great team. It was an awesome ride.”
