Stolen Vehicle Found on Fire on Sparta Highway Sunday Night

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire in the 9000 block of Sparta Highway shortly before 11pm Sunday (7/7/2024).  According to reports, two men saw something on fire in a field and called 911.  It was determined to be a maroon 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. The vehicle was severely burned.  The responding officer located a half-burned registration and was able to trace the vehicle to a Deep Water Road residence.  The owners were contacted and said they had last seen the pickup parked in their driveway around 10:30pm, the same night it was discovered on fire.  The estimated value of the truck was at $16,000.
