A Pennsylvania man faces a slew of charges after he was arrested Monday (7/15/24) while driving a stolen vehicle on I-40 East in Cumberland County. According to reports, a Cumberland County Deputy spotted the stolen Mercedes-Benz and contacted Central Dispatch and other officers with the City, County and THP to secure all exits as he attempted to pull the vehicle over at Mile Marker 315. Thirty-one -year-old Nester Garcia was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Garcia reportedly stated he took his girlfriend’s vehicle from Pennsylvania and came to Tennessee where he has family. A check with a dispatching agency in Pennsylvania revealed Garcia has 18 pending charges and they sent a hold and full extradition for him. Garcia has also been charged with Theft of Property $2,500 to less than $10,000; Theft Up to $1,000; Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Felony and Driving on a Revoked or Suspended License. His bond was set at $565,000.
