TBI UPDATE: Pleased to report Braze Rucker, sought in connection to the shooting of a @TNHighwayPatrol trooper on Friday, has been found in Princeton, Kentucky, and is in custody.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports a Trooper is in stable condition after being shot in Putnam County Friday night (7/19/2024) during a traffic stop on I-40. The suspect vehicle has been recovered in Sumner County. Suspect Braze Rucker, age 29, has been added to the TN Most Wanted List. Rucker is a black male, 6’3”, 140 pounds, with brown eyes. He has very short black hair and may appear bald. His photo shows some type of long mark, or scar on his cheek below the left eye. Rucker faces a felony charge in connection to the shooting and should be considered armed and dangerous. There’s a $2,500 reward for information leading to his arrest. Spot him? Call 1-800-TBI-FIND!

At approximately 7:50 pm tonight (Friday, July 19, 2024) a Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper was conducting a traffic stop in Interstate 40 at/near the 285 Exit/Willow Ave.
The Trooper was shot by one of the occupants of the vehicle. The vehicle then left travelling North on Willow Ave. into Cookeville.
Please be on the lookout for a White KIA Forte being driven by 2 black males with facial tattoos. Possible tag on the vehicle is Q9SC4JR.
