A Cookeville man has been arrested following a months-long child pornography investigation.
According to a press release from the Cookeville Police Department, on February 12, 2024, the Department received a Cybertip about a resident being in possession of child sexual abuse material.
On June 28, 2024, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators with the Police Department executed a search warrant on the Cookeville residence of 64-year-old Roger Burroughs. Authorities seized multiple electronic devices which they say yielded evidence of multiple crimes.
Burroughs was arrested on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, and charged with 9 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a Class D Felony, 4 counts of Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a Class C Felony, and 1 count of Soliciting Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a Class E Felony.
He was booked into the Putnam County Jail with bail set at $425,000.
