A Rockwood man was arrested Wednesday morning after he reportedly flipped a stolen 2015 Toyota RAV4 on Westel Road. It happened shortly before 10am. A Piney Creek Road resident had reported the vehicle stolen and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputy who took the report spotted the silver Toyota about 40 minutes later. It was traveling in the opposite direction on Westel Road and when the Deputy turned around, the stolen vehicle allegedly began to speed up. Once the Deputy caught up with the RAV4, it was off the roadway and on its top. The driver was identified as 24-year-old Jared Lee Adams of Rockwood. After he was cleared medically by EMS, Mr. Adams was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Cumberland County Jail where he was served warrants for Driving Under the Influence, Theft of Property/Vehicle, Vandalism and Driving on a Revoked License. The Toyota was estimated at $11,000 and appeared to be totaled in the crash. Police say Adams also hit a mailbox on Westel Road.
