Last Tuesday, York Institute’s Reese Beaty made the announcement that she will continue her basketball career to the collegiate level. The Jamestown native announced her commitment to the Iowa State Cyclones. Beaty was committed to Clemson but changed her mind and reopened her recruitment and after a visit over the summer to Ames, Iowa. Reese knew Iowa State was the right fit. Reese also had offers from Penn State, Mississippi State, and Michigan before she made her decision to play for the Cyclones.
Experts around the Iowa State women’s basketball program have compared Beaty’s play to that of Emily Ryan. Many in Ames believe the York stand out will be a good replacement for Ryan as she heads into her last season with the Cyclones.
Reese Beaty is part of the Class of 2025 recruiting class and will play her senior year with York Institute before going to the Big 12 and play for Iowa State.
