Former Cumberland County Superintendent of Schools James Edward Hall passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2024 at his home in Crossville, Tennessee after an extended illness. He was 78.
Jim Hall was known as “Hawkeye” because of his ability to shoot a basketball. He was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University and had a great passion for teaching, spending 35 years as an educator and coach, mostly in Cumberland County. The last ten years of his career, Mr. Hall served as Superintendent of Schools. He endeavored to make the students a priority and influenced many to further their education.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Peggy, his sister Pam Warrington and numerous loving family members.
Services for Jim Hall will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Sunday, August 11, 2024. The family will receive friends from noon to 3pm with the service immediately following. Burial will be at Green Acres Cemetery. (Photo courtesy Cumberland County Schools Facebook page)
