Authorities are looking for a man who may have left a marijuana plant near the former River Run Golf Course. Crossville Police were dispatched to the area Tuesday night (8/13/24) after groundskeepers saw a trespasser under a bridge between Spruce Loop and the gated off section of Holiday Drive and Tennessee Avenue. The suspect was described as a 40-year-old white man with dirty blonde hair, blue eyes and he was wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and boots. Once the intruder realized he’d been spotted, he reportedly ran down the concrete drainage path going from the lake before jumping a low barrier and fleeing northeast into the woods. After the man ran off, the groundskeepers checked under the bridge and found a large marijuana plant that had been left behind. Officers checked the woods near the bridge but no subject or additional pot plants were located. The herb was placed into police evidence pending any needed narcotics investigations that may require it.
