For the second time this a week a school in White County was put on lockout Thursday morning (8/22/2024). The White County School District reported around 8:30am that Cassville Elementary had entered lockout protocols due to police response at a nearby location.
Students and staff were safe and continued with classes. The lockout was lifted about 10 minutes later.
Thursday morning’s incident comes after both the White County Middle School and High School were put on lockout Tuesday morning due to a potential bomb threat. In that case, a middle school student was detained and the White County Sheriff’s Office reported “after speaking to the student and checking the device, which was located at his residence, it was discovered it was not an explosive device.”
