#7 Tennessee Demolishes Kent State, 71-0

The 7th ranked Tennessee Volunteers showed No Mercy Saturday night against Kent State pitching a shut out and scoring 70+ on the Golden Flashes. The Vols improved to 3-0 on the season after a 71-0 win over Kent State.

Tennessee’s star quarterback Nico Iamaleava only saw a quarter and a half of play and that’s all he needed. Nico threw 173 yards and 1 touchdown and went 10 for 16 on the night. Back up Quarterback Gaston Moore also threw two touchdowns en route to Tennessee’s 71 point showcase over Kent State. The running backs helped the Vols the most Saturday with Dylan Sampson scoring 4 touchdowns with 101 yards of rushing. Vol RB DeSean Bishop rushed for the most yards with 120 and scored 2 touchdowns. UT Running Backs Peyton Lewis and Hunter Barnes rushed for 99 yards and 38 yards respectively.

Tennessee’s defense has still not allowed a touchdown. The Vols defending 11 have stretched their streak to 15 straight quarters without allowing a touchdown.
