A terrified homeowner in Cumberland County called 911 early Sunday morning (9/15/2024) after she was awakened by a Crossville man reportedly trying to chop down her front door with an axe.
It happened around 3am at a residence in the 12,000 block of Highway 127 North.
Deputy Brandon Griffin arrived on the scene and observed a male subject at the front door, chopping on it with an axe repeatedly. Isaac Christian Campos, age 26, of Yvonne Avenue, was safely placed in custody.
Campos reportedly stated he was at a family member’s house and was mad they would not let him in. The victim did not know Mr. Campos and is not his family.
Campos was charged with Aggravated Burglary, Vandalism, Disorderly Conduct, Violation of Bond Conditions and Public Intoxication. His bond totaled $65,000 and he is due in General Sessions Court on October 14, 2024.
Damage to the front door of the home was estimated at $500.
