There wasn’t any love in Oklahoma Saturday night as the 6th ranked Tennessee Volunteers traveled to Norman to take on the 15th ranked Oklahoma Sooners. It was a home coming for the old ball coach Josh Heupel where he played his collegiate career and was the offensive coordinator before being fired. The defense held their own and helped The Vols win their first top 15 road game since 2006. Tennessee takes down Oklahoma 25-15.
Freshman QB Nico Iamaleava threw for 194 yards with 1 touchdown with Oregon transfer Donte Thornton being on the receiving end of the pass. Dylan Sampson scored his 10th touchdown of the season with 1 Saturday he also rushed for 92 yards. Kicker Max Gilbert played clutch going 3/3 on field goals. Tennessee’s defense allowed their first touchdown in 19 quarters Saturday ending their streak and also forced Oklahoma to 3 turnovers.
#6 Tennessee moves to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in SEC play. The Vols will enjoy a nice bye week before they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks on October 5th.
