The Stone Memorial High School Panthers traveled to Loudon High School Friday night for a State Playoff first round match-up with the Redskins. Loudon, unbeaten in the regular season at 10 and 0 and the Region 3 Class 4A Champs, posted a 33-21 win over SMHS to advance in the playoffs. Stone Memorial raced to a 14-0 lead after one quarter and held at 21-13 advantage at the half. The home team took their first lead of the game early in the final quarter and went on to the win. The Panthers finished the regular season with a 5 and 5 record and earned a State Playoff berth for the 12th straight season.
The other three Region 4 Class 4A teams in the playoffs posted round one wins as Upperman, White County, and Macon County advanced on Friday.
