First U.S. Bird Flu Death Reported in Louisiana

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) has confirmed the first U.S. human death from bird flu. The person was over the age of 65 and had underlying health conditions. They contracted the virus after exposure to a non-commercial backyard flock and wild birds.
