The new year is seeing hundreds of jobs leaving Tennessee. Bridgestone Americas has announced it will close its tire plant in LaVergne effective July 31. About 700 employees will lose their jobs. The news comes just days after Purdue Farms announced it will close its chicken processing plant in Monterey, Tennessee effective March 28. About 433 people will lose their jobs in Putnam County.
