After 18 long years the Tennessee Lady Volunteers have defeated the UConn Huskies. The game, played Thursday night in Knoxville, went back and forth until Tennessee went on a run in the middle of the third quarter. The game was tied up on occasion after that run but the Lady Vols were able to hold off the Huskies. Tennessee defeated UConn with a final score of 80-76

The Lady Vols had four players score in double-digits with Zee Spearman scoring the most with 16 points. Samara Spencer, Jewel Spear, and Talaysia Cooper scored 14, 12, and 11 points respectively. The Huskies were led in way by Sarah Strong with 18 points. UConn star Paige Bueckers scored 14 points and KK Arnold had 11 points.

The Lady Vols look to ride the momentum into their next game on Sunday as Tennessee travels to Baton Rouge to take on #6 LSU. Coverage between the Lady Vols and the Tigers can be heard on MIX 99.3.
