CCHS & SMHS Players Named To All District Teams & Awards for District 7 3A

As the regular season came to a close for high school basketball Valentines Night it was time to name the All District Teams and Awards. Those were released on Monday along with the District Tournament schedule.

Stone Memorial Senior Cade Capps was named Co-MVP for this season along with Upperman’s Ty Cobb.

The boys first team honors saw Stone’s Jack Cordell and the Jet’s Sol Sitton getting spots. Andrew Dennis of CCHS was named to the 2nd Team while the Panther’s Briggs Lowe was named to the 3rd team. Cumberland’s Triston Futtrell and Stone’s Kayden Page and Kayne Bosanko were Honorable Mentions. Kayden Page took home another honor being named to the All District Defensive team.

The girls 1st team only saw one player from Crossville be named in a list dominated by players from White County and Upperman. That 1st team honor wen to CCHS’s Sydney Wilhite. Cumberland’s Aliyah Hawkins and Stone’s Addi Howard were named to the 2nd team while a pair of Lady Panthers, Ashley Whittenburg and Ella Jane May made the 3rd team. Lilly Hinch was named as an Honorable Mention. Sydney Wilhite and Aliyah Hawkins saw their names called again as they were named to the All District Defensive Team.

Crossville took home Freshman MVP in both the Boys and Girls category as Stone Memorial’s Ella Jane May and Cumberland County’s Triston Futtrell were named with those honors.

Cumberland County Lady Jets Head Coach Randy Herring was named Girls District 7AAA Coach of the Year.
