Stone Memorial Lady Panther Middle School basketball team recognized for state tournament win at County Commission meeting

County Mayor Allen Foster reports that the Stone Memorial Lady Panther Middle School basketball team was recognized for winning the state tournament at Monday night’s monthly meeting of the Cumberland County Commission.  The team beat Alcoa 53 to 38 in the championship game in Murfreesboro, TN.  The team is coached by Ivy Mayberry and assistant coach Addy Wilson.   Mayor Foster says this achievement is even more meaningful as this is the first basketball state championship in Cumberland County history!

The City of Crossville has also recognized and congratulated the Stone Memorial Middle School girls’ basketball team and expressed appreciation for each team member, their parents and coaches dedication to this program and the sport.
