CPD Press Release:
The Crossville Police Department recently conducted a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training (from March 17 to March 21), with participation from several local agencies. The attending agencies included the Crossville Police Department, Tennessee Tech Campus Police, Collegedale Police, Cumberland Medical Center security, and Fairfield Glade Police.
Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) is a model designed for first responders to better assist individuals experiencing mental health issues and/or addictions. CIT aims to help these individuals access suitable referrals and medical treatment, ultimately improving outcomes in crisis situations. This training enhances communication and promotes the safety of both officers and individuals in crisis. (Photo courtesy Crossville Police Department.)
