Visitors to Rock Island State Park in Warren and White counties are currently being urged to check the status of the Caney Fork River Gorge section of the park before visiting, as access is dependent on approval from TVA based on hourly water release predictions.
Nine people had to be rescued Monday morning (5/26/2025) after they were trapped by rising water levels at the bottom of Twin Falls. No injuries were reported.
Gorge closures may occur without notice and can be in place for varying lengths of time.
Visitors to Rock Island State Park and all other parks are reminded to check the park status before arriving and obey all posted notices and alarms.
