A man with multiple outstanding warrants was taken into custody on the morning of Thursday, June 19th, following a standoff with local law enforcement.
The incident began around 5:30 a.m., when Crossville police officers identified the suspect on West Adams Street. The individual, whose name has not yet been released, had active warrants for violating the sex offender registry, probation violation, and vandalism.
According to authorities, the suspect fled into a nearby residence and refused to make contact with officers, prompting a barricade situation. The Crossville Police Department, along with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team, responded to the scene. After approximately two and a half hours, the standoff ended without incident.
The subject was safely apprehended and transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center for booking. No injuries were reported.
