The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office reports a student was taken into custody Tuesday (11/18/2025) after allegedly assaulting another student at Wartburg Middle School. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect ran from the scene and was taken into custody without incident following a search that lasted several hours. The Sheriff’s Office said the suspect will be transported to a juvenile detention facility pending completion of the investigation.
