New Tennessee Online Safety Statutes Tighten Controls on Digital Access for Minors

Two new laws in Tennessee tighten controls on digital access for minors include The Protecting Children from Social Media Act (HB 1891) which mandates that social media platforms obtain parental consent before allowing users under 18 to create accounts. Additionally, the state is enforcing age verification for adult websites under the Protect Tennessee Minors Act.
