Traffic Violation Nets Kidnapping, Other Charges Against Man In Fairfield Glade

The Fairfield Glade Police Department reports that a traffic violation over the weekend resulted in the driver being charged with kidnapping. On Saturday December 19, 2020 Fairfield Glade Police Department Units attempted to stop 37-year- old James Arrendale on St. George Drive for a light law violation. Arrendale refused to stop and units from the Fairfield Glade Police Department pursued the vehicle. Units from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office then assisted in the pursuit. Arrendale eventually stopped his vehicle close to his residence. Arrendale resisted arrest but was taken into custody by officers. A female in the vehicle stated she had been held against her will. Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies and Fairfield Glade Police conducted an investigation into the incident and Arrendale was taken to the Cumberland County Justice Center. He was charged with Evading Arrest, Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault and Being a Fugitive from Justice. His Bond was set at 575,000 dollars.
