On Tuesday, December 22, 2020 Tennessee recorded an additional 133 deaths due to COVID-19, the second highest single-day increase since the pandemic began. The statewide death toll now stands at 6,269. On Tuesday there were 534,019 total positive cases of COVID-19, up 4,441 from Monday.
In Cumberland County on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 cases rose by 34 for a total of 3,943 total coronavirus cases. Active cases fell by 55 to 740. Deaths remained at 48 and hospitalizations held at 95. The positivity rate was 23.43%.
White County’s COVID-19 deaths are 37.
Tennessee Department of Health county health departments will be closed and will not offer COVID-19 testing Dec. 24 – 25 and Dec. 31, 2020 – Jan. 1, 2021 in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
