Thirteenth Judicial District Attorney General Bryant C. Dunaway reminds everyone that as of July 1, 2026 virtual currency kiosks are now illegal in Tennessee. Bitcoin ATMs have been found to be a tool used by fraudulent schemers to victimize vulnerable adults. It is now a Class A misdemeanor to knowingly install or allow the installation of, permit, place or otherwise operate a virtual currency kiosk in Tennessee.
