A Tennessee woman is dead following a crash on I-40 in Cumberland County on Monday. According to Trooper Gavin Sullivan’s preliminary report, it happened shortly after 11 a.m. at the 314 westbound mile marker. Jamie Smith, age 34, of Waldo, Arkansas was driving a 2004 Cadillac CTS and traveling in the right lane. Smith merged into the left lane and hit a 2019 Honda Pilot, causing the Pilot to hit the bridge. The driver of the Honda, 61-year-old Deborah Bryant, of Cunningham, Tennessee was killed. Her passenger, 63-year-old Jeffery Bryant, was injured. Charges are pending against Smith.
