A high speed chase on Lantana Road Wednesday night ended in a crash and charges. According to the THP, around 9:30pm the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department was in pursuit of a 1992 Chevy Cobalt that was traveling at a high rate of speed south on State Route 101. The Cobalt, driven by 38-year-old Chrstine N. White, of Fairfield Glade, lost control in a curve and ran into a ditch just south of City Lake Road. The Cobalt then overturned onto its top, coming to final rest across both lanes of traffic. Tennessee Highway Patrolman Bobby Barker responded to the crash, Ms. White stated that she had half of a Twisted Tea and she had also smoked a joint or two of marijuana prior. According to reports, charges were issued by the Sheriff’s Department which include Evading Arrest, Driving Under the Influence, Driving on a Revoked License, and Simple Possession and Ms. White was not injured.
